The Gunners ended their season in a loss against the Chelsea in the Europa League final. The performance was just disappointing. However, there were positives for sure like Granit Xhaka, Alex Iwobi.

This loss meant Arsenal were back to square one. No Champions League next season. Not only that but David Ornstein, in an interview, stated “If Arsenal don’t win the Europa League, their budget will be around £40m.” Unai Emery now has to fix this squad with an extremely low budget.

Arsenal will have to offload some players that have not proved to be of much use to this club. Offloading players will increase the budget significantly. Some of the players that should be offloaded are Shkodran Mustafi, Mesut Ozil, Carl Jenkinson, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Stephan Lichsteiner.

The board will need to sit down with Unai Emery and have a talk about giving the right players the right contract. At this moment, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang are the two main players. Arsenal will need to build their squad around them for next season.

Moving on to Unai Emery’s post match press conference where we can, firstly, note down that he is keen to give the youngsters a chance next season. Maybe Joe Willock, Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah are the few players he has in mind.

“I think Arsenal is a big name in the football world, and a lot of players want to play here.” stated Unai Emery when asked Arsenal’s transfer strategy after missing out on Champions League football for next season. From what we can tell, Emery may still be keen to bring in some World Class players despite not being able to offer them Champions League football.

This next three months will be very crucial for Unai Emery and his side. It will decide Arsenal’s fate for next season. A few good signings could put Arsenal back on track.
