Arsenal have lately been linked with former Atletico Madrid and AS Monaco winger Yannick Ferreira Carrasco with reports that an offer has already been made to the Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang for the Belgian star.

Despite his struggles in China, Carrasco has hinted on a move back to Europe in match interviews and it’s no longer a secret that the Gunners are interested in his services.

At 25 years, Carrasco is truly a player that Arsenal are simply dying for given the lack of a much reliable natural winger in the current squad.

The wages could yet turn out to be an issue for Arsenal. Carrasco makes around €200k per week in China, and even if he’s willing to take a pay-cut, his wages will likely still exceed €100k per week.

So if Arsenal get Carrasco, what would he really offer?

Carrasco is an ideal candidate given the experience he has in top-flight football. He is equipped with technical qualities, which will certainly help him link-up with the likes of Ozil, Lacazette, Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang in the final third.

In addition, he’s fast, can beat an opponent, and drive forward with the ball on both wings – the qualities that Unai Emery is starving to have in the squad.

He is blessed with great pace and dribbling ability so as to provide cut-backs or crosses from which strikers can score.

The dribbling with blistering speed, his positioning and the length of his legs, his height are a big advantage against the fullbacks he faces.

His willingness to sprint forward with the ball, to gain those extra few yards, to make the effort to push the ball be-wilds defenses.

His ability to carve out opposition defence with sharp runs in behind the defence make him a nightmare to face for any defender. He is also superb in counter-attacking and on 1v1 situations.

The man can press for 90 minutes straight which helps the team defensively. It’s no wonder why press-oriented managers are in the race for his signature.

He can also rack up double-digit goal involvements (goals and assists) in a season.
