The transfer window in the UK may be closed, but Europe is still busy in the market and that may mean two of our men head toward the exit door.

Unai Emery has recently commented on the future of two of our squad members, and it seems that their days are numbered in terms of playing for the team again.

Shkodran Mustafi and Mohamed Elneny are both peripheral figures in the squad, and Emery has stated that both would find a move from the club to be in both of their interests regarding getting more games.

Emery said “They are very big players but for one circumstance or another they are going to have fewer chances to show their capacity or to be happy with us and the minutes they play in matches.”

He continued “But they know the situation and really I am wishing the best for them. I think now the best for them is to be protagonists in another team and to get another challenge for themselves.”

It is strange for a manager to be so candid but Emery has never been a stranger to open comments that cut straight to the truth. Now it seems he has told two of his men that their future is elsewhere.

Emery mentioned that both were unhappy with their lack of playing time last season and it would seem that the story this season would be more of the same. That means that for both players, another club would be the ideal option.

Shkodran Mustafi has recently been linked with Roma in Italy and Monaco in France. Mohamed Elneny has been linked with clubs in Turkey, but nothing concrete for either player has been put forward.

That leaves little over a week for both to get their agent’s in gear and for them to engineer a move away from Arsenal.
