Emery is Tactical Genius

In the first half Arsenal struggled to play and dominate the game because of how good Leicester was at the transitioning between defence and attack. James Maddison and Ben Chilwell were the standout performers for the foxes in the first half, with Claude Puel winning the tactical battle. When in defence, the foxes played a back four, as they transition into attack they played a back three, adding an extra man in midfield and the gunners were overpowered. Mickitaryan didn’t do much to help Bellerin either on that right wing, where Ben Chilwell was so good. Come half time though, Emery switched Iwobi and Mickitaryan positions, meaning Iwobi was tracking back Chilwell, and attacking him with more purpose, eventually closing down Chilwells’ chances to venture forward. Furthermore, Emery changed the game when introducing Guendouzi and Auba, moving Xhaka to LB, which as crazy as it may sound, he was solid while his predecessor Lichesteiner was struggling.

Captain Fantastic Ozil

Many have said Ozil isn’t captain material, but my word, what a performance. 2 goals and an assist now for Ozil while wearing the captains armband. He played a role in all three goals, and showed Emery just how effective he is when played in his preferred role. When the Foxes were crowding us out at 1-1, he removed the whole defence with the ball through to Bellerin for Aubas first goal. On his day, he is sublime, one of a kind, a generational player. If Ramsey is using Ozils deal as leverage for a higher pay rise, Ozil just proved he is on a much higher level. The challenge now, is to play like that week in week out.

Leno proving his worth

When Cech comes back from injury, it would be harsh to remove Leno from the XI. He has been brilliant so far, not having put a foot wrong. Showed how good he is with his feet on so many occasions last night, enduring pressure from the Foxes pressing, and starting the third goal out from the back. He’s saving has been sublime as well, with that sharp low save from Maguire a key moment in the game. His decision making has improved as well, as he makes his mind up quickly now when going out to claim a cross etc. So far, he has been a good buy.

Arsenal show grit and passion

Yes Leicester dominated much of the first half, but Arsenal responded brilliantly after conceding the goal. Many players who have previously been accused of not trying hard or having a soft under belly fought for the badge and played with passion, played for the club, the fans and their teammates. Personally, Hector Bellerin and Ozil deserve a lot of credit for their perfomance. Ozil showed his leadership through his performance, stepping up the plate and delivering for the team. Bellerin didn’t let his own goal and Chilwells dominance affect him, he got two assists as well as being solid at the back in the second half. In the past maybe we would have conceded a few more as the opposition were dominating, but as Emery said we showed heart.

Emirates is rocking

Everyone in and around the club right now are positive, and the atmosphere at the Emirates was rocking from the start to end, even when we conceded. I could here the crowd from the TV, the chants, the noise when someone did something. Emery really has changed the whole mood at the club. People are excited, happy and its transmitting to the players. We may sing we’ve got our Arsenal back, but the club have gotten their fans back as well. Can’t wait for the game vs Liverpool now, no matter the result the Emirates will be a fortress
