The time for transfer rumours is very much now, and with each passing day, we get another supposed target that is linked with our club, Today it is a name we didn’t necessarily see as a typical Arsenal target, but with a new man and arrangement in charge - what is typical Arsenal nowadays?

Yes, the latest news surrounding our club and our apparent transfer targets is that we are interested in massively-haired Belgian Marouane Fellaini.

The Man United midfielder/striker/plan B has held out on his club, turning down all approaches for contract negotiations and has been able to talk to other clubs since January.

The Telegraph has reported that ‘sources’ in France have claimed that Fellaini would prefer a move to Arsenal rather than other interested parties in Italy, of which includes AC Milan.

The 30 year old has been offered a one-year, 80k a week deal by United, and talks are still ongoing with the player and the club, but an improvement on what is currently on the table is what Fellaini and his agent is after.

With Arsenal perhaps having a modest budget this summer after two windows of heavy spending, this free transfer would add the bite that Emery is looking for, whilst keeping the balance books in check. The perfect deal.

This could well be another smokescreen, but it is a target that will split the opinion of the Gooner fanbase. Fellaini’s style is not exactly in-keeping with Arsenal, but he will add a threat, and he will give us an extra option that is very different to what we currently possess.
