The Arsenal Club Captain has struck again, this time Laurent Koscielny has apperently been told that he is not in Unai Emerys plans and can start looking for new clubs, with Aston Villa being a club linked. Last week it was reported that Koscielnys agent was offering the player to major European Clubs, with Barcelona keen on a short term deal.

Koscielny has arguably been the best defender in the Emirates Era, while being the most loyal. He stayed with us despite interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, and won three FA Cups with the team.

Putting the emotions and sentiments aside, letting Lolo go is a good move for the club and the player. After Spanish defender Peggys debut vs Blackpool, I realised we have many young talented Centre Backs at the club ( Mavropanos, Holding, Peggy, and Ballard). With limited game time, its wise for the ageing Koscielny to move on.

Peggy and Ballard might be unfamiliar names to those who don’t follow our youth teams, but let me tell you, these two young men are brilliant. My favorite attribute of them is that they are passionate, and know what it means to play for the badge, as they have spent the last couple of years at the Hale End. They are good on the ball, quick, composed on the ball and leaders. We all saw how good Peggy was yesterday. To capture Ballard in a single sentence, well he has made three goal line clearances already this season for the U21 team.

Taking Raul Sanllehis comments about brining up youth players to the first team, I feel that Rauls plan is perfect for our youth team considering the abundance of talent we have coming in with this age group. We have seen a lot of English youth product go abroad recently for game time, and we don’t want to lose these two top talents. Having Raul as Chief Executive has changed the clubs management as well and for the better. No longer are we keeping ageing players for sentiments. We are selling them, getting funds and clearing our wage bill. We have become ruthless and I’m loving it.

Now I’m not saying these young and inexperienced CBs are the solutions, they obviously need a senior figure to lead them and teach them on and off the pitch. Which is why I think we should keep Sokratis at the club as he has been decent since joining, and sell the error prone Mustafi, and Chambers along with Lolo to generate funds for an experienced defender like Koulibaly.

If that is done, we have 4 young very talented Centre backs at the Club, who can learn from two senior players. As of Koscielny; Thanks for the Memories, But All Good Things Must Come To An End.
