Today, for many Football Clubs and supporters, questions remain about if - or when - this season resumes.

A few weeks have passed since it was officially announced that the Premier League & EFL's would be temporarily suspended due to the Coronavirus pandemic. It was initially intended to resume from the 4th April, but that date has only been moving backwards due to the worsening situation of the virus.

This week, we had more updates from the Premier League and Arsenal. Below are snippets from both statements.

Premier League: 'It was acknowledged (at the meeting) that the Premier League will not resume at the beginning of May – and that the 2019/20 season will only return when it is safe and appropriate to do so. The restart date is under constant review with all stakeholders.'

'As a club, we are in full support of the objective for all remaining domestic league and cup matches from the 2019/20 season to be played, in order to maintain the integrity of each competition.'

Now I must admit, I am a little surprised to see Arsenal take this stance. I understand that it would be great to see the season resume and finish, however the situation in the UK is set to worsen in the coming weeks and because of this, it could be quite a while before we see life go back to normal. Surely the club should wait a little longer before backing anything? Forget about the integrity of the competitions, people are dying...who cares about the integrity right now? In my opinion, if Football cannot return before the end of June, this season should be announced as null and void.

The Belgian Pro League is set to become the first major European league to be cancelled because of the Coronavirus pandemic. It's board of directors have backed the idea of ending it early and they have made a recommendation to the general assembly. It is set to be made official later this month, with work being carried out to decide who gets promotion and relegation.

For English Football, there are so many different factors that need to be taken into consideration before an official and final decision is made. At the end of the day, all we can do is just wait and see what happens from here. I love football, I miss it massively, but some things in life are far more important.

The way I look at it, is this - the sooner everyone follows the Government's guidelines and stays at home, the sooner life will go back to normal. Unfortunately, we are still seeing many individuals go out in public places and treat everyday as if everything is okay. These selfish people are adding and will continue to add to the time our lives are restricted. Taking the scientific information into account, I don't think we will be seeing Football return here in the UK for at least another month.

In their recent club update, Arsenal also confirmed that most of their staff continue to work from home:

'Our sites at Emirates Stadium, London Colney and Hale End remain closed, other than a small number of staff who are making sure our pitches and sites are secure and ready for when we return to action.'

They added that their men's, women and academy playing squads remain at home, with all of them keeping in regular contact with coaches and support staff.

There should only be three priorities for all of us right now....

1. Stay at home
2. Protect the NHS
3. Save lives
